Back to doing things that other people can do... I just thought of a situation. I hate cleaning up, and I hate cleaning paint brushes. Today, at prop painting, I was cleaning up, then someone said something to the effect of "here, Beverly, paint this sign instead of cleaning up... we can get someone else to do that." Someone else can clean up, but only certain people can paint in a straight line.

On another subject, things come in pairs, one sweet, and one sour. Today, I found out from three colleges in five minutes. I can't say today is a happy day. But then, right after, I got a call from June Lowry. It appears that I have $1000 more to add to my college fund from the Anaheim Women's Chamber of Commerce. Well, there's more money to pay for my nonexistent college. :(

I'm curious as to who is reading this. If you're reading this, can you drop me an email at Clarisse14@aol.com. Thanks!

What did I do today? I tried to read Franny and Zooey. Let me emphasize TRIED. I am about halfway through it.

Shared moments. They're great. A bunch of us went bowling today (no, I won't say with whom I went bowling, because that will only give Kunal a hint). I had so much fun! I'll admit, we are horrible bowlers, but who cares? It's the time spent together that makes it all worthwhile. By the way, those bowling shoes are actually quite comfortable. Worn down to comfort!

After bowling, we went back to my house. I taught the rest of them how to play pool. Wow, I never realized how complicated the game is. I just play it. We spent two hours on two games of eight-ball. Yikes! That's a long time for eight-ball. I got out my mix of KOST songs. We sang and we looked at pictures, and we played pool... hey, we even called Kunal!

Today, as I wandered online instead of reading, I was struck by the realization that Prom is on May 11th. A Black Tie Affair, eh? Sounds good to me. And this year, I will be escorted by our good friend Andrew from Canyon. Yay! I'm so excited! Okay, I shall be online for a while, waiting for admissions decisions. I am prepared for the worst, but let us all hope for the best.

Today, I spent practically the whole day at Lorena's house painting props. I have green paint all over my jeans. I painted the rest of my General Store and I painted three cacti (is that right? Or is it cactuses?). Anyway, these props are going to be cute!!!

Here's a thought. Music is free. No, I don't mean downloading songs off the internet. I was at home today, waiting for Katia to call so we could all go bowling. As I waited, I was thinking of things to do while I waited. Shopping? Movie? Time and money. TNSTAAFL. There's no such thing as a free lunch. But music -- getting out my flute and just playing -- that's free. Yes, I know there's a time cost, but what's time when you have music?

Happy Easter! (Not that I celebrate Easter, but Happy Easter to all of you who celebrate Easter).

Today, I learned that there are just certain things that aren't meant to be left on an answering machine. While my family was off at church, I stayed home to get caught up on some work. The phone rang a number of times, but I neglected to pick it up the first two times. The person who called never left a message. The third time the phone rang, I picked it up. It was Jamie. Erin Hoover's house burned down last night. The family is okay, but Erin has nothing left of her room. We're all frantically trying to put together some clothes and toiletries for Erin. As communications director, I was in charge of calling all the girls to inform them and to ask them for any clothes they could spare. Most of the girls were away at church, so I got many answering machines. I didn't have the heart to leave messages. Some things just have to be told in person.

I have not posted anything in a few days, so I am going to sum up the past few days in a few sentences before I get to what I really wanted to ramble on about.

My French class was on the second page of the front page of the OC Register a couple days ago. How awsome is that?! Of course, we don't look like we're actually studying, but on the up side, at least by that time, Alex was out of his buy a buddy stuff. Speaking of Buy A Buddy, I was supposed to be a buddy, but when I showed up at 6:30 am, no one was there! So, I went to band practice. No one dressed me up =(. Buy A Buddy Day was the same day as Festival, I remember. The day after, I went to the North Orange County Exchange Youth of the Year Breakfast. This guy named Jyot is EXACTLY the same as me! Mock Trial and Band, thinks he wants to be a lawyer. How awesome is that!? He's a nice guy, too. Goes to El Dorado? On Thursday at 3:00, Berkeley decisions were posted. Congrats to all those who got in. Dare I type it? No, I don't want to jynx myself for April 3rd. Yesterday, Friday, I went to Mantas with Katia, Armando, Mark, and my brother. Mr. Mantas pretty much knows Katia and me because we go there a lot. Good food there; everyone should go there. Friday night, I went to prop painting at Lorena's house, where I am finishing up painting a General Store. Something happened in the making that just makes it look not right. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it just looks off. I'll do my best to fix it. Friday night, I went to Gina's house for a GAM sleepover. Karissa, Jamie and I are going to take Top Ship in Weather and Tides this year. We already decided. Beaufort scale: calm, light air, light breeze, gentle breeze, moderate breeze, fresh breeze, strong breeze, moderate gale, fresh gale, strong gale, whole gale, storm, hurricane. Two dots side by side is continuous rain (not freezing). A triangle with a dot on top is slight rain shower. A triangle with a six pointed star on top is slight snow shower. = is mist. A comma-looking thing is drizzle. Etc. etc. etc.

Today, I went to another prop painting in the morning. LOTS of people were there. I was so excited. The hotel Steph and Ashley have been working on is looking pretty good. My General Store still needs some major maquillage. Afterward, I came home and tried to read. I was absolutely too tired. I fell asleep. Tonight was Tracy's sweet 16 birthday party. I had fun, well, sorta. We were at the Holiday Inn on Ball and Walnut. Music, food, and fun. I met a bunch of people from Savanna. This one guy there, John, was nice, but rather feminine. Hopefully he won't read this. I don't know what else to say about tonight. The formal dress idea was a good one. If I ever plan a party for myself or for whomever, it will be a black tie affair. (Hey, that's the theme for Prom this year!).

Now, what I really wanted to talk about... actually, I thought about it the other day when Christina and I were watching Sabrina. Weeks ago, I typed about what I thought death was. I still hold that it is nothingness, but I must have thought differently before. The reason I know that I must have thought differently before is that I used to have a very logical reasoning for going on fast roller coasters. I used to tell myself that as long as people come off the ride alive, I should be able to stand the ride. Now that I think of it, if death is nothingness, then it really doesn't matter whether or not you come off a ride alive. I guess someone died on Perilous Plunge or something, so Disney is putting in seat belts on Splash. It's just sad that they have to do this just to prevent people who are obviously breaking the rules on purpose.

I had something else to write, but I don't remember anymore. It's getting late, so I should probably at least get offline.
