And, Dirait-on. My favorite French choral piece. I am going to download that song.

Roses. Wow. I missed it two years in a row... but went this year. Nicely done. Unlike the band, the choir takes great pain to make sure it looks good. May not sound so good at times, but at least it looks good. The chamber singers are fairly good. Yes, I know they got a superior, but that doesn't say anything for intonation and togetherness. I know that our concert was probably not spectacular either, but hey, we're in high school, so give us a break. The Geography chant was AWESOME!!! It was rhythm and repeat and motion all in one. I think the white bodices are ugly. Mr. McKee should get rid of them and get back the burgundy velvet. Also, bring back the blue dresses with the laced front. Those were also nice. Kill the red robes. Anyway, the tuxes looked sharp on the gentlemen. I don't particularly fashion them in just the vest, as the soloists displayed... definitely the jacket. Tails would be even better. I like the roses. I like roses in general. Joby Cross is an excellent musician. I hope he gets far with his music; I know he will. Kerilynn Jex is also an excellent musician. I applaud her for all that she does. She is also one heck of a piano player! I am off to do my composition... and I need to touch up the math project.

Just got back from taping the senior video for band. It's not spectacular, but we jumped through many a hoop to get it filmed! Yessiree Bob, we even climbed a gigantic steep side of a mountain so we could videotape the ending!!! It'll be a pretty funny video, at least in Band people's eyes. We'll all be pretty sore tomorrow.

Don't trust anyone with a box of Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans, heck, don't even trust the box of BBEF Beans!!! They aren't telling the truth! If someone hands you a jelly bean, always smell first! It may be vomit!!! Joshua Shin tried to give me a vomit jelly bean, but I didn't fall for it. He showed me that the color of the bean on the box was the same as the one he was handing me. The box said, "toasted marshmallow." Yeah right. I broke it open with my nails. Yuck! Vomit! I gave it back, and he realized that I had uncovered his little plot... so, there you have it... if even Josh can lie about it... don't trust anyone with a Bernie Botts Every Flavor Bean Box.

Oh my gosh, it takes FOREVER to send out invitations to an event!!! (I am speaking of Court of Awards). I won't even be able to go to the Couch Potato Party because of all this!!! Grrr... Sorry Secret Sister! I'll make it up to you somehow!

Wok Inn is a great restaurant.

Tonight was Concert Under the Stars at Pearson Park. Ball's band is awesome! Heck, they even played a piece 3rd period played last year!!! They have a jazz band, and they have even learned improvisation!!! I am amazed. That one kid is pretty gifted (as are many others). The sax section is going to rock in the coming years!!!

Enough about Ball... the bad news... we just weren't prepared to play Jupiter from Holst's The Planets. I wasn't thrilled about it going into it. I mean, it sounds great on the recording, but it is a difficult piece!!! I probably played the sixteenth notes better than I ever have before, but the 32nd notes at 17 were horrible! I had to page turn (with clothespins!)... and I couldn't play that part!!! It was horrible! As for Italian, it could have gone better... but at least Italian stays together! My first solo went well... better than it ever has before!... The second however, was very very very poorly done. I mean, I stayed with the band, but I was just off. I must have been basking in the glory of the first one, not realizing that it takes concentration to hit the notes in the right places.

My hand is sore. I don't know what happened to it. Too much effort in playing.

I almost sensed a revisit to freshman year... when the clouds started rolling in. Thankfully, it didn't rain. But the most awesome part was that the clouds covered a blue sky just as Ball played Into the Storm by Swearingen. Coincidence?

Last concert. It's all over. I will join the orchestra at Reed. If I don't, someone please knock some sense into me... remind me that music is an integral part of my being.

It's really depressing coming home to a dark house. Two nights already, no light on at the door. People forget. I forgive them, but it still makes me feel so distanced from my family. The light used to mean that they cared, and that they knew I was out late. Hey, at least they didn't latch the chain, or I wouldn't have been able to even get in! But I really did appreciate the light... it was a like a hug upon arrival home (especially when everyone else is asleep, and they can't actually give me a hug). I'd give almost anything to get that light back every night when I get home.

I understand now why people have best friends. I almost didn't get it before, because I thought friends were friends were friends. Why is there a difference between two friends or three? It's because three friends don't depend on each other solely. Two can stray, and leave the third partnerless. When two people buddy up, they must depend on each other, and they cannot betray one another unless there is a third party. If you go to Disneyland in a group of three or more, you can easily get separated. If you go as two, one will always wait for the other, so as neither will be all by him/herself. It's an amazing concept, yet so simple. I guess people do this subconsciously because of fear of loneliness or whatnot. That's why there are those without "best" friends (a twosome)... they're always the one in crises that they have no friends. The truth of the matter is that they have many friends that are friends, but not best friends. Best friends depend on one another. The true test of independence is the ties within your circle or web of friends.

I guess I can catch up on the last couple of days... Last night, I went shopping with Steph and Karissa. We went to Wal Mart and the DOLLAR TREE! Yes, that's right... our good friend the dollar tree... there's so much great stuff there... for a dollar! I found this great card that said... on the front "What's the difference between a birthday gift and a birthday card?"... the inside? "In this case, not a whole lot! Happy Birthday!" How funny! I love it! We found a bunch of stuff for Court of Awards. Fun!

Tonight, we did the elections for scouts. Oh my goodness this is a long and tedious process! 2/3 majority to win?! My goodness! Forever it will take! Anyway, congrats to Liz Hickey, Horizons' president for 2002-2003! :)

I spent all of today (actually, yesterday!) at Kunal's house, working on the English project. Wow, Pearl knows her computer games! I don't particularly like Franny and Zooey, and this project isn't making me appreciate Salinger any more. Oh well, I hope Ms. Lo will like the project. I'm sure it'll turn out great! We had so much food! It was one thing after another! Pizza, ice cream, soda, water, Carl's, etc. etc. etc. So much food! Then, I came home and made cream puffs! Well... if you're in French club and are reading this, go to the meeting tomorrow for cream puffs! After we finished the recording, Kunal, Pearl, and I went to see Insomnia at Downtown Disney. It wasn't as great as Memento. There was hardly any thinking involved. And what bugged me most was that the killer was revealed less than half way through the film! The climax must have been two minutes through the movie, with all the repercussions that followed as the rest of the movie. I didn't like it. Besides, it wasn't much of a "thriller." Whoopdeedoo... some guy killed a girl. He wasn't even malicious about it. Anyway, I guess Pearl and Kunal liked it; then again, I was also the only one in the car who detested Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. C'est la vie.

Last one, I promise... for tonight at least... I took the Personality test at theSpark.com. Read to see my results:

BUSINESSMAN
(Dominant Extrovert Concrete Thinker )

beverly
Like just 3% of the population you are a BUSINESSMAN (DECT). Hide the children and protect the bunnies, basically. In ancient times you would be a deadly barbarian. These days, you're perfect for Wall Street. You prefer concrete thinking to a more creative style, and your direct modes of thought and action help you succeed in whatever you may try to accomplish.

Your forceful and outgoing personality can make you seem like a hothead, but because your mind ultimately rules your heart you rarely let your emotions get in the way of your goals. By the way, think of Genghis Kahn buying seven million pork bellies on the trading market, and then eating half of them, and you have yourself. Good luck.

Haha. I took Mackenzie's online tests to find out all sorts of things. For instance, if I were a room, I'd be the Bathroom; if I were a character from Lord of the Rings, I'd be Legolas; if I were to be paired up with a movie star, I would be most compatible with Elijah Wood; if I were to be a Johnny Depp character, I would be Edward Scissorhands. Anyway, I would have posted my results sooner, but I figured that it would just take too much time. Here's a test I got from Gary's page: The Death Test. It (and all the rest) come from the main site TheSpark.com. If you take any tests, I would be interested to know what you get!

Here are my Death Test results:

It predicts that I will die on: March 25, 2070 at the age of 85 years old.

On that date you will most likely die from:
Cancer (14%)
Drowning (14%)
Homicide (12%)
Alien Abduction (10%)
Heart Attack (6%)
Horrible Accident (6%)
Contagious Disease (6%)
Alcoholism (6%)
Confusion (6%)

Drowning or cancer, eh? We'll see, we'll see.

~~~~~~~
I also took the SexTest at TheSpark. Here are my results:
Congrats! In your life, you'll have sex with 2 people! And you'll first have sex at age 20, in your own bed.
The info on your 2 future sex partner(s):
0 of them will be female
2 of them will be male
And you will actually love 1 of them!
Prepare yourself for a long and fruitful relationship.
I really should stop doing nothing online and get to sleep!!!
