All is well now, sort of. I guess I can describe the situation now. My dad is still in the hospital, recovering from yesterday's quadruple bypass surgery. He's doing well. Yesterday was the longest day of my life. We even almost stayed at the hospital overnight. Instead, my dad persisted that we get a good night's rest. So, we came home... and I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

It's weird how certain things happen to make one realize that some things are just frivolous. For instance, I took off my acrylics on Wednesday night. My nails are a mess, and my two pinky nails half-ripped off in the removal. Yes, they're still bleeding, and it stings to even wash my hair. Sound bad? Well, when you hear that someone you love is going to have a major procedure done to him in a matter of hours, you forget that your two pinkies are throbbing. It almost seems selfish to complain about something like that.

I want to thank everyone who sent an email, called, sent balloons, sent cards, sent flowers, or visited. We appreciate your concern.

I'm worried about something, but I don't think this is the appropriate place to describe it. I can't write anything else right now.

The Shawshank Redemption is an awsome movie.. I think I'll leave it at that. If you haven't seen it, go see it now.

My pinky nail feels like a loose tooth, about two seconds prior to it coming out. Grr... how in the world do you get these nail things off?! I can't even type correctly!!! I'm never getting acrylics again, okay? And if I try to, someone stop me! The only exception? Wedding day? Possibility.

Went to Adrian's party today. Katia and Karina were there, and so were Ly, Karina's brothers and sisters, and Armando. It was fun. The park is a nice place to be... of course, it'd be better if there weren't people lying on the floor getting it on... But, I guess that's their decision to be as public as they were.

I really have to work on checking my work when I do math problems... one of my big flaws... I finish tests too soon, and end up missing one little detail... like plugging in numbers for a or x or what have you. Anyway, the people in my class say I'm making too big of a deal of two points... but two points is a pretty significant number for such a silly mistake. I guess you pay the price if you rush through tests... 98%... grrr... So close, and yet, so attainable!

Get this pinky thing off me!!!!

I'm tired. Need to scrapbook more. Really tired.

I ran some errands this morning. I don't think I've ever been to the bank by myself before, but it didn't end up being that bad because the guy in front of me in line was such a nuisance to the teller, that she was glad to have me be the next person in line. Hey, for one, I speak English, two, I speak it correctly, three, I enunciate, and four, I had actual business being at the bank. My account is $300 richer. Yay me! [By the way, if I didn't put it earlier, I have that $300 because of the Stoddard PTA scholarship. Go me! :) ]

Also, I went to school to make some copies and pick up my transcript. Ms. Muir won't be back till Friday, so don't even try. I went to drop off some letters in the mail... but the mailbox by Lee Canton (and Lee Canton itself, might I add) is GONE!!! What happened?! I then went to the post office at Brookhurst and Ball... followed by a trip to JoAnn's... (one of my FAVORITE stores!). Tacky glue is only 89 cents right now! A total bargain! And it's not even a cheap-O brand... it's the good brand that's in the gold bottle! Yay!

I know, you were all expecting this journal to contain deep thoughts like those in Kunal's or Phillip's or even Gary's site... maybe even GrAco's. Too bad! You're getting a daily dosage of my life. Yay me! :) Fine, don't read it if you don't want to... this journal is probably more for my own enjoyment and for my own records.

See which Greek Goddess you are.

Hey, Mackenzie, this is pretty fun! All these tests! :)

I just got back from my first Calculus test at Santiago Canyon College. Math 180. It was pretty easy. I'd say that taking a 2.5 hour test in 1 hour means something. Anyway, it was all stuff exactly from the homework... how much easier can you get?! I guess I get results tomorrow... Hopefully I didn't goof on addition or something.

This whole scholarship thing is a pain. I have to write letters, make copies, and send things in... grrr... just forget about the money then!!!! :) haha.

Kunal has a nice lookin' page. I see the light writing on white is now greyish writing on black. Very stylin'. Go check it out: Insanity is Contagious. And, I have resolved to end the "personal comments" on his comment boxes... and just to make him really mad, I'm never going to finish signing his yearbook!!!! muwahahahahah!!!! Take that Kunal! Haha. Okay, just kidding... really, I'll finish signing it before I go off to Oregon.

I have a lot of cleaning to do... I haven't gotten very far in the past week... o well. The scrapbook is really coming along. You all have to visit so you can see it!!! :)

The Giver is a pretty good book. Kudos to whoever put it on the recommended summer reading list. Yeah, I started reading it last night at 1 am, then I decided that 2 am was quite enough for reading... then, I woke up early this morning to finish it. Great book. It's kinda like Ayn Rand's Anthem and George Orwell's 1984 all rolled into one. Such similarities almost leads me to question some "idea plagiarism" going on. Oh well. I guess that would depend on which was written first. I think we can all agree that Orwell's book was written first. So, aside from the fact that 1984 is just plain a better book and that Lois Lowry took some of his ideas, The Giver was a good book to get the younger kids learning about societies that suppress the citizens. Anyway... on to the journal entry...

Reed has A LOT of paperwork! I think I'll buy supplies/furniture/bathgoods/etc. in Portland. Not only would it be more convenient, but it would be about 4% less sales tax!!! Bummer, I won't find out my housing assignment till beginning of August.

Calculus class is SO INCREDIBLY SLOW!!!! I can't stand it anymore... it's sooo slow! My goodness, the people in the class get it already! Test tomorrow. If I could just refrain from goofing on addition/subtraction, I'll do fine. A perfect test would be one that consists of exactly one problem... that would determine the entire grade. Wouldn't that be cool?!

Ooo... Chelsea's play is coming up. Alice in Wonderland, put on by a children's acting theatre. Sounds fun. Anyone want to go? Email me. I think it's $7. It's one of the late July/Early August weekends.

I started reading Voltaire's Candide today. I like to read, I only wish I'd have more time to.

Computer at Reed; yes, that's right... I am going to be changing over to Macs... Maybe not such a bad thing, but surely, I'll need a couple weeks or months to get used to it. I used to own a Mac... but I haven't used one for extended amounts of time for programs other than video editing and other art programs. Well, I petitioned for an iBook, but my dad said I'll be getting the iMac G4... I guess so... hey, it's better than nothing. Well, so long PC... it was nice knowing you.

Going to do some more scrapbooking/reading/cleaning.

Sorry Ashley that I didn't go to your party! :( I feel horrible! I don't think I've been to the beach in two years or something... I don't know what it is... I don't really like the beach. Sorry sorry sorry! :(

Today, I taught more DSC training. There were only 10 people there today. Christian's cousin was there! I didn't even know his cousin worked at DSC too! Anyway, I met a couple new people just by following the greeting policy... Andrew and Jesse. They seem like nice people. Anyway, had fun at training. Nancy got me a small pot of sweetheart roses for helping her with the training... awww! How sweet of her! :) I probably will be back to see Cheryl during this week.

I worked on my scrapbook today. I love scrapbooking! It just takes so much time!!! So far, I've done the cover page, the symbolic-type statement page, the friends page, the band page, the family page, and the lunch bunch page! How fun! That's a total of 16 sides, I think... some are one sided, some are two. Band is four. There were just so many fun pictures! I'm tired. I think I shall do Calc hw... the one due on Tuesday. I already did the hw due tomorrow night. Calc is so fun! :)

BTW, if you're going to take my quiz, note that NO ONE has gotten the correct color of my carpet yet! I guess I need to wait for my brother or sister to take it.
