Random thought... so, I was driving to class today, and I was at a red light, next to a big truck that said "Chic, party rentals"... and that got me thinking about businesses. So, is that the owner guy driving the truck? It sure would cut down expenses if you delivered the stuff yourself... but the owner guy might have more important stuff to do for his business... so what does he do? He hires someone to take it there for him... but then he has to figure in how much hiring a guy is going to cost, and allow for that when charging the people to rent stuff... then, the cost of the truck? How will the owner know if the truck driver isn't going to 1) get there on time, 2) crash the truck, or 3) steal the truck? Then, that led me to thinking about the importance of government. Now, I'm not one to defend the purpose of government, because I usually view DC as a bunch of people in suits, making money for doing nothing... But then I realized that the truck driver must have signed some kind of paper making him liable for the truck and its contents. So, if he steals/breaks anything, it comes out of his paycheck, and he may even go to court or to jail or whatever. And _that_ is where I am glad we have government. It's like the backing authority for all things good in the world... well, sort of. As long as you're not trying to break society's rules, the gov't will be behind you (most of the time). ... to protect you from criminals and bad guys. Go police! Yahoo!

Silhouettes... great for a t-shirt design... it's clear and concise -- why can't the people in my class see that?! Grrr...
I should be cleaning my room... one desk to go, and a couple rearranging things (like getting rid of all those crates I bought like a week ago!)... o yeah, and buying an "underbed box"... yes, they make those things... I'll do that tomorrow. If I get around to it... Need to do calc homework...

I'm glad that I chose to go to Santiago Canyon College instead of any of the other college summer school sites that offer Calculus. Why? I'm sure the teaching is about the same... the people? About the same... the difference then? The drive there. Once you hit Tustin, there's about one traffic light every 300 yards. Curvy roads, speed limit comparable to that of the freeway, and hardly anyone to get in the way. And once in a while, horses. The sunset, too, is gorgeous. I want to live in East Anaheim!

I started planning out my Fall schedule... My goodness! I'm going to be quite busy if I want to do 4.5 units in one semester... plus Orchestra and Ballroom dancing (neither of which earns any credit). Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays... don't even think about getting a hold of me on the phone, because it's straight lectures from 9 am to about 4 pm or so. Then, Tuesdays and Thursdays will be discussion/lab days! Yay me! Three hours of straight Physics labs! Woo hoo! So, the line up of classes... we're lookin' at Humanities 110 - Greek and Roman Literature; Math 210 - Multivariate Calculus I; Physics 100 - Intro to Physics; Econ 201? - Intro to Economics; PE 101 BDB - Ballroom Dancing Beginning; Music 130 FCR - Orchestra, no credit. I think that's about the schedule I want to take. I'm dropping the whole Poli Sci thing because it just isn't something I'm interested in... I've always said that I want to be President of the US, but it's not going to happen... so why bother? Physics, now there's a worthy subject. And math, of course.

Benny Hernandez passed away not long ago. That's sudden. I guess the doctors all predicted that day would come long ago, but he survived far beyond expectation. He was a great person. I consider myself lucky to have known such a great person.

I know, I know, I should be reading The Iliad, but I just can't help myself! Grrr... So far today, I went shopping at Burlington Coat Factory for some winter-wear for Portland, and I watched Ocean's Eleven, which wasn't a bad movie, but it was rather similar to Mission Impossible. I don't like movies that copy other movies. Need... to... read...
