I went to a math dinner tonight. We all learned how to play Go. It's an interesting game. I feel like everyone else is having way more fun here than I am. I mean, I am having fun (I love the classes, and I find learning about my subjects very very fun), but not the "fun" everyone else is having. Maybe it's because I refuse to get drunk and go to wild parties? Most likely.

I spent tonight with Jesse again. We saw a movie put on by the Spanish house. Yes, it was in Spanish, with English subtitles. It was called Love's a Bitch. Like Memento, only in Spanish. Afterward, we went back to his dorm to study for Humanities and Physics. I also took with me my Economics book. We studied. I spent some time on the "balcony," looking at the stars... then, we studied some more. Just got back now. He walked me back to my dorm again. What a sweetie.

I spent last night with Jesse. Well, not the whole night. I went back to my dorm at 1:30 or so. We just talked. Wow. I would have been perfectly happy just lying there, looking into his eyes for the entire night.

Did anyone know that "Beaver" has a sexual connotation to it?! Why, oh, why did you guys nickname me that?! Today is September 11th. I went on with life as usual. I was supposed to host a "prospy" today for Hum 110 lecture, but apparently 9/11 has something to do with decreasing numbers of "prospies" visiting this week... so I went to Hum lecture withoug a prospy.
I spent most of today with Jesse. Apparently, he is in many of my classes (Hum, Physics, and Computing). We had lunch yesterday after Computing lab, then today, we met up for Physics lecture and after Computing lecture (a talk on "The Game of Life"... go to this site to download MaxLife). We went to ballroom dancing tonight, then to Model U.N., and then finally to dinner.
What a day... September 11th, and I only thought about it once.

Last night we sat up until 2 am, discussing September 11th around a candle. Has it really been a year? I don't feel it, and I don't feel affected by it (well, save the masses of products featuring the stars and stripes and various phrases like "God Bless America"). The discussion led to politics. Do I really act like a spoiled, rich brat?! Or do my strong republican views just come across as such? At this rate, I'll never get elected President of the U.S.!

Tonight, Planned Parenthood put on a presentation about sex. The name of the presentation? Sex and Pizza. No, pizza not as some wacky fetish; more along the lines of free pizza! Birth control patch... now there's one to go get! Does anyone out there know about the pill one can take the morning after as an "emergency" contraceptive?! Wow. The other students at Reed know a lot about sex!
Oh yeah, and another thing... the Physics lab here is so awesome! Take that, Berkeley!

Ben's a lazy bum... well, not in the literal sense... did you read what he wrote on his page?! Ben's Page. He says that HE solved it... NO he didn't... he did NOT talk it out with anyone! I just casually mentioned that I think Bobby is really awesome... and he got all jealous or something (Now, he thinks that he's made up his mind just because I've moved on... well, the reason is that he's not keeping me in the loop... Are we in? Are we out? Have you moved on? Or are you just hanging out with other girls just to make me jealous [because if you are doing that, it sure did work!]? I'm sure Ben's probably reading this right now... he has this page address. Besides, he acts like he's going out with Rachel... so they might as well go out! I don't even know Ben any more! The SEEDS trip really messed relations between my dormies and me.

Today was the first day of orchestra practice. I'll have to admit that some are not as good as I had hoped them to be. ...then again, I shouldn't be talking (I can't sightread well either!). There are three other flautists (not including me). Bobby is awesome on the flute! I feel like practicing. Too tired... must read Hum Essay on Ancient Greece...
I erased the hard drive on this computer and restored the system. It works now... and now I have Mac OS 10.2 (as opposed to my old 10.1). Good Mac. ... however, not as good as a Titanium iBook, I hear. :)

My faculty adviser and the rest of the math department are inviting all the prospective math majors (their mentees) to dinner this Friday. We're eating at one of their houses. I went out to buy a dress today.
It's just the end of the first week, and I already have tons of reading to do! I thought that reading The Iliad would hold me for a couple of weeks... but no, we have The Iliad and this other book, Ancient Greece. Better get reading! Luckily, I find this book interesting, or I'd be very upset that they assigned all this reading!
